After all these years ... Lodgers still dominate at SPORTS!

My son John is a senior at MSU (unfortunately, not a Lodger).  His IM
football team is pretty good, made it to the finals last year in the
independent division.  His team played the Lodge last week.

Final Score:

   Lodge - 32

   GDI’s - 0

His quote: “Their rushers got to our QB too fast every play.  We probably
only got 2 or 3 first downs.”

Thought you would enjoy hearing this.

Gentlemen, start your engines!

It's time to rebuild the heart and soul of The Lodge again.

Update:

A con-call was conducted Saturday morning that confirmed five foundational requirements for pulling the chocks from under the wheels and starting down this road:

This initial five-point deployment plan architecture has buy-in from the Alumni Corporation.

1.  Secure asset backed bridge financing required to quickly ready 453 Abbot  Road for actives and recent grads who will be the onsite process stakeholders, and inhabitants of The Lodge, this fall.

2.  Develop a new Charter for an interim Independent Fraternity organizational structure that represents a best-of-class model for mentoring, operating, and seamlessly transitioning the structure going forward.

3.  Reconnect the community at large, enabling brothers with decades of real-world experience to interact with, mentor, guide and monitor a more transparent Lodge.

4.  Put the organizational structure, governance, guidelines, SOP's, and controls in place to ensure that the new organization thrives into perpetuity.

5.  Position the organization for a petition for repatriation with Theta Chi, or rebrand and align the new entity with another National Fraternal Organization that would like to have a rocking presence in east Lansing by Jan 1, 2015.

Highlights:

  • We have a core group of 6-8 alumni committed to make sure that Jim Curran and Ken Marlin are not "the only two soldiers left on the hill manning the machine gun nest" any longer.
  • There are 35-45 engaged and motivated actives
  • Lodgers have identified a treasure trove of Lodge images from the last several decades, and plans are in place to unarchive and share them.
  • A content repository has been established so that working documents have a single destination (SOPs on how not to overwrite each other's work will be distributed)
  • BetaZeta.org is the new The Lodge connection point (will link with our FB page and other social channels)
    • It will become the portal to the community
    • Blogs, Wikis, content repositories, social sites and contact information will be available from the portal
      • the Blog is up (if you're reading this you know that)
      • Threads will be started and maintained by the committees
    • Some elements will be open, and some private (engineering in progress)
    • There will be a page put up to accommodate the input of contact data for actives and alumni
  • Four initial committees have been proposed, with the short term goal of tactical execution:
    • Physical Plant - Thompson/Reinholt to assist Marlin
    • Leasing - Reinholt
    • Funding & Org Structure - Corcoran to assist Curran
    • Post Mortem and Future State - All
    • Communications, Communities and Connections - Nycz
    • Lodge Operations - Emmitt
      • `Hague
    • Charter Development - Schultz, Corcoran

Work sessions are scheduled for the next two weekends at The Lodge, and a team meeting will be scheduled for this Saturday at noon.

It has been proposed that we rent a room at the Kellogg Center for the Oregon game on Saturday September 6th, and formally launch this initiative via an Alumni Corporation board meeting. Duck soup will be served.

A follow on call to Saturday's conversation is slated for 7:30 tomorrow evening:
